HIPAA E-Signature Pricing: PhiClaw’s $10/Month Add-On

By PhiClaw Team · · Pricing · 6 min read

HIPAA e-signature pricing can be hard to compare. A low advertised subscription may cover only one sender, a limited number of signature requests, or a plan that does not include a Business Associate Agreement. For a practice, the useful number is the total cost of the workflow your team will actually use.

PhiClaw’s Docunvex-powered e-sign add-on is $10 per month for unlimited users and unlimited documents per month. It is a subsidized offer for PhiClaw subscribers. Your base PhiClaw subscription is billed separately, and the signing workspace is provisioned during onboarding. Patient-data use requires completed activation; the current status is explained below.

What the $10 monthly add-on covers

At $10 a month, the add-on is $120 over twelve months. That is the signing add-on alone. It excludes the PhiClaw base plan, setup fees shown on the pricing page, and any separately selected services. Use Build your plan to see the combined subscription before checkout.

Count people who send, not just people who sign

Make a list of everyone who prepares or sends agreements: the owner, office manager, front desk, and any other authorized staff. A recipient signing one agreement is different from an employee who needs a sending account. Ask a vendor which of those people counts toward its paid-user allowance.

For example, imagine a fictional clinic with five staff who send documents and another five who only review completed files. A per-seat quote can change depending on the permissions each person needs. Under PhiClaw’s unlimited-user signing package, adding a teammate does not change the $10 add-on fee. Each person should still use their own approved account and appropriate access.

Understand documents, envelopes, and overages

Before comparing quotes, ask what uses up the allowance. Is a request counted when it is sent, when it is completed, or every time it is resent? Can multiple documents travel together? Do API sends and browser sends share the same limit? These questions matter more than the headline number on a plan card.

Write down a normal month and a busy month. Include new agreements, renewals, and corrections. Ask each vendor to quote both volumes in writing, including any extra charges. PhiClaw’s offer uses a flat monthly document allowance of unlimited documents under its separate customer package.

Where HIPAA fits in the purchase

A BAA is the contract that sets a vendor’s responsibilities for protected patient information. HHS explains that business associate contracts address permitted uses, safeguards, incident reporting, and relevant subcontractors. Read HHS’s business associate guidance.

Payment does not complete the HIPAA setup. For this add-on, provider approval, operating readiness, the applicable signed BAA, and workspace activation must be in place before patient information is used. You can plan your rollout and evaluate approved ordinary agreements without PHI while those steps are completed.

How to compare the full bill

Use the same checklist for every quote: base subscription, paid users, document volume, extra sends, required HIPAA tier, setup, and renewal terms. Compare the cost of the tools you need together. A practice that already uses PhiClaw is evaluating an incremental $10 signing fee; a new customer must include the PhiClaw subscription in the decision.

PhiClaw customer offer: $10/month added to your PhiClaw subscription, with unlimited users and unlimited documents per month. This subsidized package is provisioned through PhiClaw, separately from Docunvex’s standalone plans. Patient-data activation is required: Docunvex’s email-provider approval and operating-readiness review are still in progress. Use only approved agreements without patient information until your workspace is activated. Check current HIPAA status.
